Thrifty haul..part 1

Well if I haven’t banged on enough about my love of thrift shops, then after this post I most certainly will have! But when you can get a large carrier bag crammed full of stylish and surprisingly trendy vintage clothing – from Levi jeans to pretty summer dresses – for only £7 can you blame me? Hmmm… well if I proceed to tell you that one of those items was a genuine leather suede fringed jacket, which only cost me £1… do I have your attention now?!

1. So my first purchase was a tan fringed suede jacket! There has, as recent as this morning, been an awful lot of hype over suede for this summer. It is a definite must have, as I have proclaimed in my earlier blog posts about my summer style must haves! But rather than forking out hundreds of pounds for a leather garment on the high street, I have built up quite a collection of leather suede pieces collaboratively for under £20 by exploring my local thrift stores for the real genuine originals 🙂

2. My haul also included a pair of vintage Levi jeans and any avid vintage shopper will agree with me here- a pair that fit correctly and are not too big and baggy are very hard to come by!! So when you find a perfect fitting pair for only £1 it’s definitely a cause for celebration, and deserves a blog post in its self.

3. (Surprise surprise) I additionally managed to pick up one of those ‘perfect’ stripy t-shirts that you are for ever looking for, but then another one always crops up?! Yep so I got another stripy top to add to my endless collection, but hey I take the view that you can never have too many stripy tops! So I now have the perfect stripy top for only £1…. until the next one turns up (I’ll give it a week or so until I think I have found another which is too good not buy).

So, teamed together, believe it or not this outfit – Levi vintage jeans and a stripy tee – cost me only £2!!! And yep you hear me right, £2!! It’s not a typo I assure you, it really was that cheap 🙂

4. In my bag I also picked up, a beautiful floral shirt, which acts as a versatile wardrobe staple, whether worn simply as a shirt with jeans, or as a light throw on jacket over a tee and shorts!

And this is only half of what I picked up, so go out there and get thrifty 🙂

  1. I live in the most boring place ever, we have a lot of charity shops (and not much else actually) but it’s really hard to find anything genuinely vintage or even stylish, we don’t get markets either 😦
