It’s all about the wide leg trousers

There’s no escaping the big trend that’s hitting us this summer 2015, of which is forecasted to last well into the autumn season! It’s the wide leg trousers/culottes 🙂 So to both show my love and appreciation to the versatile, comfy, ‘throw it on when you can’t be bothered, but still look fab’ trend…which is hard to come by in the world of fashion!! I thought I would do a post on the where to’s when it comes to buying the best wide leg trousers on the high street 🙂

1. Firstly, you may call me bonkers for this, but when it comes to trousers…. Marks and Spencer’s surprisingly come on top!! Many people automatically right off the humble  M&S due to their.. some what old lady reputation!! But I say, don’t shun, give them a chance and you’ll be surprised as to what you may discover! With a lot of their stock almost being a head of current fashion trends and certainly other  high street stores (whether this is intentional or not haha). And hey, when you do find a hidden gem at least you’ll know that not half the country will have also purchased the same item which is always a bonus 🙂  here’s an example of a pair of wide leg trousers I managed to scout out:

2. Secondly, Zara are really at the forefront when it comes to the culotte department!! With a huge variety, ranging from quirky patterns to smart tailored styles!! My personal favourite from there current season stock, is the following gingham pair 🙂 which are to date the comfiest trousers I have owned!! (They also come in a stipe print)

And hold on.. wait a minute… it wouldn’t be a signature post by me if I didn’t champion the almighty charity shop!!!

3. So thirdly, check your local charity shops and thrift stores for your perfect pair of wide leg trousers before you hit the high street! Don’t forget that, like many fashion trends, culottes are simply just a style that is coming back around again, so charity shops are actually a rife with a wide range of wide leg trousers! Whether you are looking for something a little whacky, or for smart tailored designs, you name it they will probably have it! Here is an example of a pair of spotty navy blue culottes I picked up the other day from a small local charity shop:

So now you have read about where is best to bye your perfect pair, don’t shy away but go out there and embrace the recent culotte style!
